The Dred Scott Case was a case taken all the up the Supreme Court. Under the NW Ordinance slavery is illegal in the the NW territories! Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Roger B. Taney appointed Andrew Jackson and other 6 justices. They sue Dr. Emerson and the later find out they can't sue a citizen of the Supreme Court! They throw out the Ordinance of 1787! Look at the 5 Amendment. The Dred Scott is legal inside the U.S.
