Political debates, and press conferences are now done virtually, or put to the side because of this coronavirus. President Trump has really shown his true colors during this pandemic, and some things that he said and done were brought to the surprise of many americans. In the following paragraphs, I will explain how this pandemic has affected the political side of the world.
This pandemic was surprising to most people and none of us were prepared for this. After Trump took down former president Obama’s testing labs for viruses, America was in need of a leader, as we were all confused, and didn’t know what to do. This is what America received, you can decide whether he was being a leader or not in this pandemic, here are the facts. After many shops, businesses, and almost all americans jobs were shut down, america was in need of money to pay rent, buy food, and take care of families, without an income. Trump, and the government decided to give all tax-paying americans a stimulus check, to help with the costs, after a couple of weeks when they started to give out these checks, trump stopped the whole process in order to put his name and signature on all of the checks, while Americans have wait longer to feed their families. He also suggested to inject yourself with lysol disinfectant to “clean out” your lungs. Reports soon came back of Americans infusing bleach and cleaning supplies into themselves, and some dying, when the next day we heard that he was just being sarcastic, and didn’t actually mean it. This is what our leader did during this pandemic, you decide.
While the election is coming this November, America will see President trump, and Joe biden compete for presidency. President Trump is in a tricky position, with the coronavirus, we are at home, and most of us will be sending in our votes, but it is easier for people to cheat the system using this concept, which is why he asks to put them in a drop box, or a polling place to keep the elections fair. Hopefully Americans will think for themselves, choose the better candidate, and vote. We will see what this year's election will bring us.
