They stayed hopeful. They didn't give up or waited for sombody to help them. They relied on their strength. They told themselves not to panic, ignore the surroundings and focus on actions.

Both followed safety rules they had been taught. Their actions helped them to look for the solution. Wyatt stayed focused on the instructions given to him by his guide and this helped him survive in the water.He eventually saw his team and saved himself.

Betty tied herself to clothesline and tied clothesline to a post. This allowed her to find her way back to house along with Fancifoot
