If due to any reason the path of the asteroids concedes with the celestial position of the earth or any other heavenly, it can be very dangerous for the that heavenly objects to absorb the force or strike. As it can make instability in the composition of elements along with the overall position of the celestial body under attack.
- There are number of occasions on which earth faced attack of the asteroids:
- The prehistoric Chicxulub impact: It occurred nearly 66 million years back and it was so intense that it is termed the one of the reason that dinosaur's mass extinction was caused due to the impact created by that asteroid.
- The Chelyabinsk meteor: As in the recent years the most recent asteroid impact recorded was in 2013, which caused several injuries.
