The long beaked eagle was one of the many birds that went extinct in this time period. Because the long beaked eagle was the only natural predator to alligators, alligators began to overpopulate many parts of the southern US. They started to look for more food sources like farms and would sometimes even wander into cities and eat people! In 1976 the anti-windmill act was passed and the US has been using hydro power as there main source of energy. The US has also adapted eco-friendly wind turbines that serve as nests for birds and provide very little energy.
