Not every soldier is a hero, and not every war is just. Others say referring to soldiers as heroes is done out of respect and gratitude for their personal sacrifice, not matter how big or small. They are risking their lives to keep us safe, and acknowledging their sacrifice is the least we can do.

        Why are soldiers heroes? In my opinion, soldiers are heroes for many different reasons. One might say that soldiers are called heroes just out of respect and gratitude given the personal sacrifice they had to give in order to fight for their beloved country. It doesn't matter how big or small the sacrifice is, they are still putting their lives on the line for us. Just acknowledging their sacrifice, big or small, and calling them "heroes" is the least we can do.
