Answer:

Traditional animation is done frame by frame, by hand, while digital animation is composted entirely on the computer. While traditional animation is always 2D, digital can be done in 3D and 2D.

Explanation:

Traditional animation, also known as 2D animation or classic animation, is done frame by frame, meaning each moment is drawn and composed separately by the artist. The frames are drawn by hand in various techniques, like pencil or ink. They have later put together in order to make the moving sequence. When all frames and scenes are put together, the sound is added to make the film complete.

Digital animation, or computer animation, is made by using various computer programs and techniques. Objects and characters are modeled in the desired manner, and then sequences are made directly in the program. Objects and characters can be animated to move on the computer by the controls. When the full product is finished, the animator does the rendering.

Both animation techniques are complicated in their own way, but computer animation is finished faster with all the possibilities. While traditional animation requires excellent artistic skills, computer animation also demands the artist to have computer knowledge and the ability to operate the program. Traditional animation is done in the 2D technique, but digital animation can be 3D as well as 2D. Traditional animation, as suggested by the name, is older and has a longer history, while digital animation is relatively recent – the first cartoon animated fully by computer is Toy Story, which came out in 1995.

Answer:

Tradition animation is consider the older form of animation. They have to draw frame by frame to create a sequence. Animators usually had to test the sequence in a draft to see how many frames would it take. This made it tough and expensive

Now animation can be done in 2D using a computer, this means characters, environments, visual effects and all is done using this technique. Before the computer animation was done taking photographs of drawings, as we explain in the previous paragraph. Cels were created after placing each photograph on transparent acetate. With this method, they had to draw several images; it was exhausting work. Nowadays with computers, this job is done by a software, but you still need drawing skills. However, if you are working on a digital animation, you can secure your work and you can undo as many times as you want because everything is saved and can be loaded easily.

Anyway it is necessary to work hard and train to know the programs and their possibilities, tools, and curves. That way is easier to show your own  technical and artistic skills.
