Should Everyone Speak English?

You have been asked to respond to this question: Should everyone in the world speak English? Answer:

im not gonna write the whole essay for u i'll give u tips tho

Explanation:

intro para: a lot of different cultures have different stories behind their languages. This argument for a universal language is logical, but insensitive

first para: languages help bring people close to another, even in a foregin land, people can come together and build a relationship if they speak a language that not a lot of people speak

second para: a lot of meaning is held in each word of each language. getting rid of every language except english would mean hundreds and thousands of words would be forgotten. Also, in translating, a lot of meaning is lost

third para (counter claim para): it makes sense for people to want to have easy communication with everyone across the world, but that doesn't mean that we force a language onto people that they don't want to learn. Instead, it should be encouraged that people learn english in school which still speaking their mother tongue so we have the effect of a universal language and easy communication

concluding para: While it make seem like the obvious choice, it is highly diregarding the stories and cultures of other people, which ultimately is what makes humans unique and special.
