Patrick Henry aimed to convince them to secede from attacking Britian as it could have most definitely resulted in a large loss of men for battle, however Henry also included the idea of being disloyal to the King to strengthen the argument a whole lot more and so comes the famous quote. If we do this, we will have death but if we don't, we will have liberty.
