On April 16, 1963, King was in a Birmingham Jail, his heart was huge with the infringements of human rights and offense African Americans grieve at every level of their daily lives. In a letter he wrote from the jail, King writes, History is the long and painful story of the truth that free groups sometimes give up their perquisites freely. We know through painful life that freedom is never willingly given by the oppressor, it must be directed by the enslaved.
