Answer: Volunteering is one of the most influential things a young person can do. By volunteering one does not focus only upon themselves they learn to care for others. Volunteering gives one satisfaction and teaches people not to expect something back. When someone volunteer's they give up their time to do something with nothing in return. This is such a great thing because it offers perspective to those less fortunate. It also shows what other people do for someone. For example if someone always had a pen and paper waiting at a desk you realize someone did that for you. It puts someone on the other side of things teaching them to respect those who help them. Additionally it teaches them to be thankful for what they have. For example if they help out at a homeless shelter it puts into perspective what a blessed life someone has. It is important to have young people volunteer because they learn to see hard things sometimes they also get to use their strengths for something.
