During the mid-nineteenth century, many people became dedicated to the causes of women’s rights and the abolition of slavery. Others, however, opposed these social movements. How do you judge social movements and causes in today’s world? What do you think makes a cause right or wrong? Why would you join a social movement? Why would you refuse to join a movement?

Answer:

Social movements should all have a point. For example, this social movement wanted to help women's rights, here they had a point. In todays world people should have the right to march, and speak, because they want something to change for the better. As long as you don't hurt anybody while protesting, it should be fine. We call this a peaceful protest. I would join a social movement if it effected me or if I thought something needed to change. I would do the exact opposite if I think that everything is fine and nothing should be changed.

Explanation:

Social studies is about making a good argument. Typically, there is no right and wrong since it wants YOU to answer it, not the textbook. Hope this helps :)
