Many Bosnians felt very angry about the Austrian-Hungarian empire in 1914 because Austria-Hungary had taken over Bosnia and dominated Serbia.

Let's remember that teh Austria-Hungary Empired had annexed Bosnia-Herzegovina on October 6, 1908, after many years under the control of the Ottoman Empire.

So what happened in 1914 was that the Balkans region became so conflictive and everybody thought that the war was coming fast. And indeed that happened. After the assassination of archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, things went out of control in terms of aggression and violence. That represented the beginning of World War I.
