The french had the most soldiers in the front trench than any other country but some would argue russia. Despite russia having a big army they did not get involved till sometime later. The french lost 10-11 million soldiers in ww1 alone and is now home to the no mans land trenches. The british who fought alongside the french came in the third for most deaths and germany coming in at second. You may think but we won so how do germany have less deaths than the french in the war well germanys army wasnt as big as the french and also they mainly gave up because of shortage of ammo not shortage of soldiers.
