Answer Question 1 : What did people do at liberty trees and liberty poles?

Liberty trees and liberty poles were used in forms of protests before and during times of the American Revolution. The liberty tree (1646-1775) was an Elm Tree that was in Boston Massachusetts and was used for expressions of people’s dissatisfaction with British rules and forms of law. People went there to protest Acts like the British Stamp Act, the Currency Act, Sugar Act, and the Boston Port Act.  Later, it became a symbol for celebrations and “a symbol of objection to British policies.” Liberty Poles were also symbolling of freedom and independence, and liberty, that were used by this meaning during and before the American Revolution. Liberty poles were also used to protest Acts and Rules the British made up, and people would sometimes gather and protest together. It was similar to the use of Liberty trees and was later used and put up on own properties, to symbolize Liberty or protest.
