Two people that I believe were important in America's movement for independence are John Smith and George Washington. Despite his lack of involvement in the revolution, John Smith was important in America's fight for independence because without Smith's guidance the colonists were too disorganized to ensure their own survival. If it wasn't for him then the outcome of the colonies' success would have been drastically different. George Washington was important because he won the last major battle of the American Revolution. To gain independence fighting was crucial and the colonies wouldn't have been successful without George Washington's lead.
