Respuesta :

The answer is number 2

At the outburst of the First World War, Tolkien chose to complete his degree before enrolling in 1916. After entering the Lancashire Fusiliers, he came toward the Western Front just before the incomparable Somme offense. At direct, J.R.R. Tolkien saw the dismay and savagery of the "Incomparable War"; he lost many dear companions, unsurprisingly he commented- "By 1918 everyone except one of my dear companions was dead". J.R.R. Tolkien was alive, for the most part, because of the persistent trench fever, which caused him to return to England. He seldom discussed his encounters specifically, yet the huge scale destruction by the war has had without a doubt impacted his write-ups. It can be said that the symbolism of the badlands of Mordor was the outcome of the sloppy horrors on the Western Front.

So, I am sure that "World War I" influenced the writings of Tolkien.
