Unforgettable Past
Chelou D. Pantaden

I remember from many years ago
Being disobedient was all I know
I felt mom and dad did not love me so
Coz of things I was not allowed to do
Those I really wanted to give the go.

Until I finally had decided
Never to obey mom and dad I did
Giving them discomfort, I succeeded
Being with my friends I felt delighted
Every now and then we never parted.

But all the happiness I thought would last
Were unpleasant memories left to cast
A beautiful life I once had was lost
All my friends I thought real ran off so fast
There I lived the misery of my past.

Thanks to mom and dad who showed me they care
Good times and bad times they were really there
What I did to them was really unfair
On bended knee I promised to be better
With tearful eyes, they said, get up my dear.

To all children of this generation
You are all the future of this nation
As long as your hearts and minds are open
To all your parents’ teachings and lesson
Each of you will become better person.

Respuesta :

1. The author of this poem felt that her parents did not love her due to the fact that they gave her restrictions and stopped her from doing some things.

2. The author succeeded in giving her parents discomfort because she left to be with her friends. She left to a place where she could do anything.

This is not alright because she could have gone astray and gotten into trouble due to this. Other than this, she could have jeopardized her future.

3. What the author realized about her friends is the fact that they did not really love her. They left her.

4. Through the bad times and the good times the people that were there for her were her family.

Yes I agree with the words of the poem. It tells us that family is everything and the love from ones family is genuine, corrective and helps to direct our paths.

5. The advice that the author gave to is that children have to keep an open mind to the teachings they receive from their families in order to get better in life.

If I am to advice I would say a similar thing. The corrections from our parents may seem tough sometimes, but they correct us because they love us and they want the best for us.

Most of them have much experience of the world and the society we live in. They advice us so that we would not make mistakes that are difficult to correct.
