Most people prefer to remain in their own home. But doing so requires housework,upkeep,lawn and garden maintenance. People start asking themselves if they really want to spend their last year's this way? Especially if they had a large house. It's too much for them but who wants to take on another house at 70? Not to mention a mortgage. So some people find it simpler to move to a senior community. Most of these are apartments or condos with services included. They have company their own age and they don't have to shovel snow. I wouldn't care for it myself because I enjoy the company of kids and people of all ages. It keeps you engaged with the world.
