The mistakes that the characters made in the story were:

  • They went sailing on high tides.
  • They were mistaken on some of the things they saw while in the turbulent water.

The changes that the characters underwent were

  • They had to take turn rowing the both.
  • They jumped from the boat and swam when it overturned.

The ending of this story was inevitable. Due to the extent of the storm. It already showed that it may lead to a loss of life.

Summary of the Open Boat story

This story was about four men who went sailing. One of them was a correspondent who was on his way to cover  a war.

They faced great issues in the waters due to the fact that there was a storm. After the boat capsized, they got to shore and discovered that they had lost one of them.
