Respuesta :

Following World War II (WWII), a proposal to split Palestine into Jewish and Arab governments sparked a dispute in the Middle East.

Why was there so much turmoil in the Middle East after WWII?

The Arab nations were given new alternatives after WWII, when the world was divided between the West and the Communist East. Prior to World War I, neither the United States (US) nor the Soviet Union (USSR) had too much of a interest or presence in the Middle East or North Africa.

The United Nations (UN) General Assembly enacted "Resolution 181" in 1947, calling for the partition of Palestine into Arab and Jewish states, with Jerusalem designated as a "corpus separatum" to be ruled by a unique international government.
