Two number cubes are rolled.What is the probability that the sum of the numbers rolled is either a 4 or a 10?

Respuesta :

10 out of 36 chances. If you roll a dice you have 36 chances to get pairs of different numbers. There are 6 numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6. The pairs you can get to get a sum of four are: 2,2. 3,1. 1,3. The number pairs you can add to get the sum of 10 are: 5,5. 4,1. 3,2. 6,4. 1,3. 1,4. 2,3. 4,6

Not sure if it is correct, but I tried. Hope that helped!

The probability that the sum of the numbers rolled is either a 4 or a 10 will be 1/6.

What is probability?

Its simple notion is that something will most likely occur. The favorable event's proportion to the overall number of occurrences.

Two number cubes are rolled.

Then the probability that the sum of the numbers rolled is either a 4 or a 10 will be

The total number of the events will be

Total events = 6 x 6 = 36

The favorable events will be

Favorable events for 4 = 3 {(1, 3), (2, 2), (3, 1)}

Favorable events for 10 = {(4, 6), (5, 5), (6, 4)}

Then the probability will be

P = 3 / 36 + 3 / 36

P = 6 / 36

P = 1 / 6
