A typical set of stairs is angled at 38∘ . You climb a set of stairs at a speed of 3.3 m/s .

1). How much height will you gain in 3.6 s ?

2).How much horizontal distance will you cover in 3.6 s ?

I think its like this:

All your really doing is looking at components. And using trig.

1) y=3.3sin(38)(3.6) =7.308m

2) x=3.3cos(38)(3.6)= 9.36m

This should make sense since with a 38 degree slope you will travel more in the horizontal direction than the vertical direction.
