In some museums the staff don’t particularly like someone being too close to a painting, but this manly depends of the importance of a painting, like no one would care much if it was a painting that no one has heard of or knows the artist (would still be covered by glass or have a barrier around it of course)
But if you were too close to the Mona Lisa then you would most likely be thrown out, just don’t go near the paintings in general
