Using the library or the Internet as a resource, locate and watch TWO different interpretations of The Crucible. You may choose to view a film or live play production. Then, compare and contrast how the two interpretations represented the original play by Arthur Miller. Did either of the interpretations make any changes to the original material? If so, how did it affect your experience as a viewer?

Respuesta :

I would like to compare these two interpretations of The Crucible : 1) Eric Christ's interretation and Wade Bradford's interpretation. The main differences between there interretaions is that in the first one you can notice direct link to Joseph McCarthy whereas the second one represents how the town is filled with hysteria. The second interpretation shows that author believes that the story  about puritan town in Salem is based on actual events while the first example shows the sencible reference to sort of bias.
Hope that helps!

Answer:

In watching two different interpretations of The Crucible, comparing and contrasting how the two different interpretations represented the original play by Arthur Miller, it is shown that there are slight differences in these two interpretations made in comparison to the original material in the play.  In the first viewing, the interpretation shows almost a mirrored storyline to the play where there only difference would be the film shows the witch trials in Salem to seem like the film was almost a documentary of the occurrences for that time period.  In viewing the other film, it shows slight differences in the setting and the character personalities as the character of Abigail seems to be a much younger girl than described in the play as being an older teen type of girl.  All in all, both films show their interpretation of The Crucible by Arthur Miller in a way that both interpretations correlate with the original material of the play where the point of comparing the Salem witch trials with the McCarthy Trial era is clear.
