Explanation: First thing we need to know/assume is that a citizen who´s thinking of voting for a different/minor party might have experienced negative stuff before.

Second thing is that your citizen per se is giving a shot to another candidate to prove if he or she is worth of his or her charge.

And lastly but not less important, citizens would vote for minor party candidate just to figure out if that decission can make the difference in the country/state/county. Like tossing a coin in the air.
