When Roosevelt was leading, the U.S. was the world's foremost economic, political, and military power. R's contributions to domestic life during his presidency were just as vital. While his "New Deal" did not end the Great Depression, Roosevelt's leadership gave Americans hope and confidence in their darkest hours and fundamentally reshaped the relationship between the federal government and the American people.  I hope this helped (:
Franklin  Roosevelt was in Navy. His experience about International politics/relationships was Great was he was at high post in the Navy. When he became the President of the United States in 1933, He showed that experience in his work. Unfortunately, World War II began in 1939, In that critical situation, His experience was very helpful. He has tremendous Geographical experience so he gave orders to Military Chiefs in very appropriate way. In that way, His experience helped him a lot during the war.

Hope this helps!
