You live in Carson City, Nevada, which has approximate (latitude, longitude) coordinates of (39N, 120W). Your friend lives in Ottawa, Ohio, with coordinates of (41N, 84W). You plan to meet halfway between the two cities. Find the coordinates of the halfway point. Show your work.

80/2=40
(-84+-120)/2=-204/2=-102

Actually you don`t have to use negative values.
The coordinates of the middle point:
x = ( x 1 + x 2 ) / 2,  y = ( y 1 + y 2 ) / 2
In this case:
Latitude = ( 41 + 39 ) / 2 = 80 / 2 = 40
Longitude = ( 84 + 120 ) / 2 = 204 / 2 = 102
Answer: 40 N and 102 W
So your work is correct.
