Does DNA repilcation take place in the same direction along both strands of the DNA molecule that is being replaced? EXplain your answer.

Respuesta :

no , both strands are replicated in opposite directions , which gives rise to the name " leading " and " lagging " strands as one strand is replicated faster than the other . DNA is replicated only from 5' to 3' so only one strand can be replicated in the 5' to 3'  continously ( leading ) while the other is in the opoosite direction . u probably wont understand this mechanism easily through words so i suggest u watch a video on youtube if u still dont get it !
