One of the issues involving slavery that came up in the constitution came up when delegates began discussing how to determine representation for states. The question was whether or not to count the slave population for the purpose of representation. Three-Fifths Clause is the ban on Congress ending the slave trade for twenty years, the fugitive slave clause, and the slave insurrections.
