If the principal told the agent to commit a tort or knew the consequences of the agent’s carrying out his instructions would bring harm to someone, the principal is at fault and will be charged.
Committing a tort means that the person has committed some sort of crime that can be assault, negligence, battery, damage to the property, or emotional distress.
As the agent might have committed the crime, he will not be the only one responsible for the crime, but the Principal will also be because he knowingly told him to commit the crime. Both of them will be considered criminals and will be brought to court for trial.
