According to the effects studies, Teen mothers encounter many physical, psychological, social, and spiritual challenges: A constant requirement for support and movement, inability to plan and determination making, lack of maternal skills confronting strange situations, and major changes.

This study found five significant maternal health challenges confronted by adolescents during pregnancy namely; psychosocial challenges, physical misuse, denial of fundamental human rights, unfriendly adolescent services, absence of legal and cultural protection, and scarcity of birth preparedness.

Adolescent mothers and their offspring exist at a high-risk status both physically and emotionally. Poverty, malnutrition, difficulties of pregnancy, and emotional problems such as depression, drug, and liquor use, are all risks for the mother. Children exist also at more significant risk for physical, cognitive, and dynamic problems.
