The medulla of the suprarenal gland secretes two hormones known as epinephrine or adrenaline and norepinephrine or noradrenaline. These hormones are generally termed as catecholamines.
These hormones are secreted in times of emergency when an individual is experiencing stress and therefore are also called 'fight or flight' hormones.
