1. introduction/beginning- This is the starting phase. The introduction takes place.
2. social study/data gathering- A study of the client and their circumstances in relation to their condition is done in this stage
3. assessment- an evaluation is done to get as close to an exact definition of a client's social position and personality as feasible.
4. intervention/treatment- to alleviate the client's distress while repairing, maintaining, or strengthening an individual's social functioning.
5. termination- Termination means ending the process.
