The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA) protects certain candidates and personnel forty years of age and older from discrimination on the basis of age in hiring, promotion, discharge, compensation, or terms, prerequisites or privileges of employment.

L. 90-202) (ADEA), as amended, as it appears in quantity 29 of the United States Code, commencing at area 621. The ADEA prohibits employment discrimination in opposition to individuals 40 years of age or older.
