Area of a rectangle = b • h = 4x 8

Area of rectangle + frame = (2X+ 4)• (2X +8 )

then now resolve and eliminate parenthesis

applying distributive law (a+b)•(c+d) = ac + ad + bc + bd

(2X+ 4)• (2X +8 )= 4X^2 + 16X + 8X + 32

= 4X^2 + 24X + 32
