A student is asked to convert measurements from liters to milliliters and from milliliters to liters. His answers are shown in bold in the choices shown below. On which choice did he make a mistake? 0.402 L = 402 mL 0.0202 L = 20.2 mL 3.6 L = 360 mL 11.1 L = 11,100 mL

11.1 L = 11,100 mL is wrong. that should be 111,000
We know that there are 1000ml in 1L. When you convert liter to milliliters, you add three zeros.

For example: 1L = 1000ml. So, 0.402 L is equal to 402.0 ml because you are moving the coma three spaces to the right.

*0.0202L is also equal to 20.2ml because the student moved the coma 3 spaces to the right, which gives us 20.2ml.

3.6L is NOT equal to 360ml. Instead, it is equal to 3600ml.

The trick shown above helps me a lot with my math questions!!
