Answer:

A number of economic and societal changes occurred as the use and popularization of the automobile made it´s way into the lives of the Americans.

Explanation:

  1. New industrial professional era: The invention of the automobile, made way for the growth and development of mechanical technology in the automobile industry. Mechanical parts and accessories were manufactured in great numbers, opening ways for job vacancies and professional carriers.
  2. Improved Standard of Living:This new booming industry provided new job openings and thus improved the standard of living of the average American. More filial factories were set up and these ensured continuous flow of job opportunities.
  3. Improved mobility and development of suburban areas. Initially, the buying an automobile was regarded as a luxury item by many, however the car was mass produced, the prices fell and more and more people could afford them. The automobile, also made it easier for mobility. As more and more people could afford them, they also began to move into the suburban and hinterlands and away from the urban spaces. There, they built new homes and grew their families. These areas equally grew and developed.
  4. Greater Independence for Women: Women who lived in the suburban areas now had an added incentive. They could own and drive cars as well and to move around more freely. They could  do their shopping for groceries etc.. and pick up their children from school. Those in the urban areas, normally lived at walking distances from important locations. This new facility also meant that they were not bound or limited to their home environment as jobs, social engagements could be sought for away from the homestead providing grounds for more independence for women.
