The debt of America is somewhat of a silent beast, as it has grown tremendously over the years, yet not much has been accomplished to alleviate it. In the beginning years of American history, the first presidents made it a goal to end their term in office with all their debt completely paid off. However, nowadays, with a much larger and more populous nation, the government is spending more without being able to pay it back. Over time, this debt has accumulated into the trillions and has been, for the most part, overlooked as a benign issue.
