Respuesta :

The corrects answer is C) ARPANET.

ARPANET is considered the forerunner of the internet.

ARPANET stands for Advanced Research Projects Agency Network. It was established by the Department of Defense of the United States in 1969, and it used two protocols that were determinant for the invention of the Internet: the packet-switching network and the TCP/IP protocol suite. The scientist that participated in the development of the research were Paul Baran, Lawrence Robles, and Donald Davis. So ARPANET is considered the forerunner of the internet.

The forerunner of the internet is ARPANET. ARPANET stands for Advanced Research Projects Agency Network.

EXPLANATION:

ARPANET was a trial computer network project where the research was funded by the U.S. Defense Department. The developmental research of ARPANET was in the late 1960s. Its main goal was to link or connect computers at Pentagon, a funded research institution over telephone lines. In that time, the military commanders were trying to find a computer communications system without a central core. The military commanders also wanted an internet connection with no base of operations to headquarters which could be destroyed by the enemies. Then, ARPANET was found.

ARPANET employed the packet-switching methodology in it. The packet-switching methodology was employed based on the ARPANET founders’ concepts and design. It was Paul Baran, Leonard Kleinrock, Lawrence Robert, and Donald Davies whose concepts and design employed in the ARPANET. ARPANET’s TCP/IP communications protocols were explored and built by Vint Cerf and Robert Khan. Both of them were computer scientists. ARPANET’S communications protocols were also developed in incorporation with the French CYCLADES. It was a project led by Louis Pouzin.

In 1981, access to ARPANET was expanded. It was because the project progresses and the protocols for internetworking were progressed. It was also when the National Science Foundation (NSF) funded the CSNET (Computer Science Network) when the access to ARPANET became wider. In 1982, ARPANET applied internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) as its standard networking protocol.
