Which of the following statements about the natural resources of the United States is most accurate?
A. The United States relies on its agricultural resources because it does not have natural resources.
B. U.S. industry and agriculture have prospered because America has many different natural resources.
C. The United States has had to import most of its resources from other nations. D. Natural resources such as clothing and cars have been a huge boost to the U.S. economy.

its not C...

Respuesta :

Natural resources are those derived or extracted from nature.
* Clothing and cars are not natural resources, so D can't be the right answer.
* Agricultural resources (grains, fruits, vegetables, etc...) are natural resources, so this statement does not make sense.

The only options that make any sense are B and C. They are opposite of each other, and can only be answered if you know your stuff. You should know that the US is one of the largest countries in the world (the third actually). Large countries will have many natural resources except when the environment is too harsh, but even then, natural resources can probably be obtained with a little effort.

With this rule of thumb, we can make a guess that the US has many different resources. This is indeed the case. Just think for a second how varied climate is in the US. New Mexico and Arizona are in a dessert. The southern states have access to the gulf where fish is plentiful. Midwestern states are known for farming (corn, mostly). This list goes on and on.
