A longitudinal study done by Arum and colleagues on a cross-section of U.S. college students found that students' cognitive growth was: HALF OF that of college students 20 years ago.
Some factors that caused this occurrence are the diminishing quality of the campus professor, too many new departments appear that seems to teach no applicable skills in the workplace, and too many distractions due to massive growth in the entertainment industry.
