Minerals are naturally occurring materials that are inorganic in nature and solid in form. It cannot exist as a liquid or a gas. It is made from the physical and chemical processes or the geological processes happening on Earth and not from biological processes of living organisms. It may consists of a single chemical or more in a form of compound. They are classified base on the anion present like carbonates, sulfides, silicates, oxides, hydroxides, halides, borates, phosphates and sulfosalts.
