The Nazca culture developed on the southern-coast of present-day Peru between 200 B.C. - 600 A.D. They are very famous for drawing the "Nazca Lines", a group of geoglyphs, which are large drawings across the desert and hills that can only be seen from air or highs. They were created by removing oxidised darker surface rocks. These drawings pictured animals, plants, and humans. It is believed they were used with religious purposes related with water. Therefore they demonstrate that the Nazca culture was very complex as it has a whole belief system highly developed. This needs a lot of organization, a society capable not only of reproducing itself over time but of developing a multidimensional culture.
