To find the answer to this equation, use the result of "27 people" who prefer tea. This is equivalent to 3 out of 10 people in the whole survey sample. Using equivalent fractions to find the total sample, we see that "3/10 = 27/x." Multiplying 3 by 9 gives 27, so multiplying 10 by 9 gives a total sample size of 90 people.
