Answer:  There are many similarities between the Ebola virus and HIV. The common characteristics of Ebola virus and human immunodeficiency virus are given below:

  • They both are incurable, they are not easily cured. There is no vaccine for both till date.
  • They both originated in Africa and they both are fatal if left untreated.
  • They both are carried by the host( animals) and transmitted to humans.
  • They both are transmitted by body fluids, but Ebola is slightly easier to transmitted which means it can be transmitted even through the urine, sweat, sneezing et cetera.

Both HIV and Ebola viruses are infectious viruses and cause diseases to the human being.

Following are the common characteristics between HIV and Ebola virus:

  • The genetic material(DNA or RNA) of viruses is infectious in nature.
  • Both the viruses are originated from Africa.
  • HIV and Ebola viruses both have RNA as genetic material.
