A serum is being given to a patient to desensitize the patient for allergies. Each week the dosage is increased by 0.01 centiliters (cL). If the patient receives 0.5 milliliters (mL) the first week, what dosage in milliliters (mL) would be received in the eighth week?

0.57 milliliters. if you start with 0.5 milliliters the first week and you have 8 weeks in total you have 8 weeks and you have already given the first weeks then you have 7 treatments left to do. 0.5 and 0.01 have different place holders so when you add them it wont go from 0.5 to 0.6 it will add to the 100th place of the original number so 0.5 + 0.01 would be 0.51
