Artists started to shy away from religious works,as the humanism movement spread across the world

There were many things that artists were beginning to do around this time. Artists began to get away from religious motives, and instead began to find their inspiration in humans. They celebrated the power of the mind and reason. Artists also began to include themes from Ancient cultures into their art, in particular those of Greece and Rome. Artists also began to reflect on the role of humans in the world, and they studied new concepts such as "industry" and "progress."
