What is the topic sentence from this paragraph? Inside of Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc Cave in the countryside of southern France lies a magical collection of paintings. These paintings are not like any that you might find in an art gallery. They were completed over 30,000 years ago by ice age people who painted animals, monsters, and human figures. Because of their age, these paintings provide modern humans a window into the distant past.

The first sentence:
It talks about the paintings first, it sets up the paragraph by giving the location and describing the paintings. When you read the sentence it tells you that the paragraph is gonna be about paintings without directly saying "This paragraph is about paintings". Keep that in mind when you write your own topic sentence.
