The crown passed the so-called Intolerable Acts to suppress mutiny among the clonists and also to increase their revenue. Four of the acts within the Intolerable acts were targetted towards the colonists of Massachusetts and it also included another act named Quebec Act. The Boston tea party was a direct violation of the crown and it resulted in great loss financially to the crown. The American colonists felt that the British government was taxing them unduely and acting in a tyranical fashion. To stop such kind of revolts from spreading to other areas of the colony, the Crown came up with the so-called Intolerable Acts.
